An education is very important to the development of any child. I am posting articles that deal with things happening in the public schools. Some of the discussions taking place in public education are attacks on Christian values and the family. Christian families must be watchful of everything that goes on in pubic education.
Clear Your Mind talks about "transcendental meditation" and how "Hollywood bigshot's foundation is investing hundreds of.thousands of dollars on the theory that transcendental meditation's mind-clearing sessions also can improve students' well-being and academic performance."
Intelligent Design deals with the debate that still is going on about Creationism vs. Darwinism. These topics are something all Christian families need to follow.
Red Pens talks about current research that shows RED is a very scary color to children. This research seems like a bunch of nonsense to me.
Teaching Tolerance or Attacking Religion? opens up with this question:
"How far can schools go in teaching tolerance for gays and lesbians? Two federal courts tackle this thorny question. It's the latest battleground in the culture wars. In the wake of several high-profile cases holding school districts liable for failing to protect gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) students from peer harassment, many schools have adopted training programs intended to reduce harassment and promote acceptance of GLBT students.
A Few Bad Apples asks these questions: "Is your teaching effectiveness hobbled by a few persistent troublemakers? Ever thought of quitting because of them?" Three-quarters of teachers say they "could be teaching a lot more effectively" if it were not for discipline problems, and one-third have "seriously considered quitting" because of them.
